Virginia Loves Bourbon, But Where Does It Rank Among States?
December 10, 2024 10:26am
There are few indulgences that tie Americans together quite like the draw of a nice glass of bourbon on the rocks.
Whether you prefer your bourbon straight-up, on the rocks, or inside a Manhattan or Old Fashioned, there’s no wrong way to enjoy the spirit that Kentucky lays claim to.
At BetVirginia.com, we took a break from covering Virginia sports betting to use Google Trends and Statista in developing our ranking of states that love bourbon the most.
We used Google Trends to get the states with the most bourbon searches since 2021. Statista.com was used to find per capita consumption of straight bourbon whiskey per state since 2021. Once that information was compiled, we created a point system, giving up to 50 points for search rank and up to 50 for per capita consumption for each state.
