It has been more than a quarter-century since the Washington Bullets rebranded themselves as the Washington Wizards. But it seems many NBA fans around the country still have zero idea what the team’s logo looks like, much like it’s hard to find any reason to worry about Washington Wizards playoff odds in the 2024-25 season.

BetVirginia.com wanted to know which NBA logos are most forgettable and least well known. To do that, we used a quiz from Sporcle.com that asks respondents to identify NBA logos within the time limit. We created this ranked list based on the percentage of quiz takers who guessed the logo correctly, from lowest percentage to highest. With each logo shown, any words in the logos are removed for the quiz. Our Virginia sports betting coverage continues with this look at NBA logos.

The red-and-blue circular symbol with a basketball and the Washington Monument inside it ranked as the least-recognized emblem in the 30-team league in a recent survey.

Washington’s correct guess percentage of 76.7% ranked behind teams like the Los Angeles Lakers (79.9%), Philadelphia 76ers (80.3%) and Memphis Grizzlies (82.2%) for Sporcle quiz respondents. What’s easy to find is the best Virginia sportsbook promos at BetVirgina.com.

Washington Ranks Last In Recognition

Overall, Washington’s correct guess percentage of 76.7% finished dead-last in the NBA. Contestants only have four minutes to identify as many logos as possible, and when we took the quiz the Wizards logo was the last one among the 30 in the league, which were shown with any words removed.

The Lakers, Sixers, Grizzlies and Indiana Pacers (82.6%) were the other teams with the lowest guess percentages.

Rounding out the list in 2025 were franchises like the Denver Nuggets (82.7%), Houston Rockets (84.0%), Dallas Mavericks (84.1%), Toronto Raptors (85.1%) and the Sacramento Kings (85.3%), showcasing just how hard it is to identify the 30 logos of the association in a four-minute time crunch.
