The Washington Commanders reached the NFC Championship Game last season and earned their most victories (12) since 1991. But that’s not to say that everything’s peachy in D.C.
For instance, how will the running back situation affect Washington Commanders playoff chances? Veteran running back Brian Robinson Jr., coming off of a career-best season, might not be guaranteed a starting spot for this season.
BetVirginia.com broke down the odds on where Robinson will suit up next.
Team | Odds | Percent Chance |
Stay with Washington Commanders | 46.5% | +115 |
Chicago Bears | 8.3% | +1100 |
Tennessee Titans | 6.7% | +1400 |
San Francisco 49ers | 5.7% | +1650 |
Los Angeles Chargers | 5.7% | +1650 |
Dallas Cowboys | 5.4% | +1750 |
Kansas City Chiefs | 4.8% | +2000 |
Houston Texans | 4.8% | +2000 |
The Field | 10.0% | +900 |
These odds were developed for BetVirginia.com as part of our Virginia sports betting coverage.
Robinson set career highs for rushing yards (799) and touchdowns (eight), but might be the odd man out for Washington in 2025. The fourth-year veteran out of Alabama could be traded or released because the Commanders have a bounty of backs, including Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez Jr.
Teams such as the Chicago Bears, Tennessee Titans, San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Chargers all serving as the potential landing spots for the former third round pick that we think are most likely, if the Commanders trade him.

Robinson’s odds of leaving D.C. are far from guaranteed, with a contract that runs through the 2025 season before he reaches unrestricted free agency at season’s end. Though we have the Commanders as the favorites to retain Robinson, the timing seems right for a deal.
Robinson has racked up 2,329 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground in 41 games with an Approximate Value (AV) of 17 at per Pro-Football-Reference.com. He has rushed for at least 700 yards, but never more than 799, in three NFL seasons. Still, there likely would be no shortage of suitors should Washington decide to move the running back.
We’re giving the Bears the best chance, at an 8.3% implied probability, to acquire Robinson. That would translate to +1100 odds if it were offered as a prop at Virginia sportsbook apps. Tennessee (+1400), San Francisco and the Chargers (+1650 each) have the next-best odds of landing the 26-year-old Alabama native, followed by the Dallas Cowboys (+1750), Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans (+2000 each).
Robinson has yet to crack the 1,000-yard mark as a pro, but he has been consistent. Throw in his 65 career receptions for 587 yards and five touchdowns, and you have an idea of why NFL general managers might want Robinson in their lineup. He is capable of stretching the field on the ground and in the passing game, which is a key component of today’s pro football offensive landscape.
And he’s due to make just over $3.4 million in the final year of his rookie deal with Washington, part of the team-friendly reasons that Robinson could be a top-tier trade target right now.
For now, Robinson looks to be a key contributor for Washington as the club looks to return to the postseason this fall. The Commanders have -134 playoff odds, and +220 odds of winning the NFC East, with the FanDuel Sportsbook Virginia odds board.

According to the latest betting lines, Robinson has a 46.5% chance of staying in Washington, making them the clear frontrunner.
The Chicago Bears (+1100, 8.3%) and Tennessee Titans (+1400, 6.7%) are considered the strongest potential landing spots outside of Washington.
