Betting Experts Tracking the Washington Commanders Super Bowl Odds: June 2023

Fact Checked by Wes Roesch
Sam Howell passes the ball

Key Takeaways:

  • The Commanders' Super Bowl odds are +6600, which are the sixth-worst odds in the NFL.
  • Using implied probability, the Commanders have a 1.5% chance of winning the Super Bowl in 2024.
  • The Commanders have not been thought of as Super Bowl contenders for much of the past two decades.

Washington controlled its own playoff destiny last season, but lost the games it needed to win in order to make a run at winning the Super Bowl. Now, Washington shifts to sophomore QB Sam Howell, and the market does not think the Commanders are better off with Howell under center.

If Washington can make the playoffs and make a run at the Lombardi Trophy, it would truly be a Cinderella story. While this is a long shot, it is still possible, so I have decided to track and analyze the Commanders Super Bowl odds every day from now until the end of Washingtonโ€™s season. I will also keep tabs on their odds of winning the NFC East and the NFC.

Commanders Super Bowl 58 Odds: June 2, 2023

The Commanders Super Bowl odds are +6600 at BetMGM. Heading into the season, Washington finds itself with a better probability of getting a top-10 draft pick than winning the Super Bowl. Washington has the worst odds of winning the NFC East and the third-worst odds of winning the NFC.

๐Ÿ‘‘ Odds to Win SBLVIII+6600
๐Ÿ† Odds to Win NFC+3000
โญ Odds to Win NFC East+1000
๐Ÿ”ฅ Odds to Make Playoffs+260
โ›” Odds to Miss Playoffs-350

Washingtonโ€™s playoff odds are relatively uniform across all of the major Virginia sportsbooks. Washington is viewed as the worst team in the NFC East, and it is given the third- or fourth-worst odds of winning the NFC. Given Washington has anointed a QB with just one career start under his belt as its starter, this should not be a shock.

Considering the fact that the other three teams in the NFC East made the playoffs last year, it is not surprising to see Washington being viewed as the worst team in the NFC East. Washington won the NFC East in 2020 with +1000 odds, but it is hard to picture that being the case again this year. The Eagles, the reigning NFC East and NFC champs, are expected to win both the division and conference again this season.

Every week this offseason and every day during the 2023-24 NFL regular season, I will be tracking and updating Washingtonโ€™s odds of winning the Super Bowl, the NFC East, and the NFC. I encourage you to bookmark this page so you stay up to date with the latest Commanders developments.

Washingtonโ€™s 2001-02 (+350) preseason has by far their shortest odds of winning the Super Bowl. Washington has not come close to that number in the last two decades.

The worst preseason odds Washington has seen in the past two decades were +30000 in 2020-21. However, Washington won the NFC East that year and had a home playoff game against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.

If you want more information on the Commanders' playoff chances, I have an entirely separate page dedicated to just that. Over there, I am tracking Washingtonโ€™s postseason odds based on any news and notes coming from the team.
