Key Contributors Toward Commanders Super Bowl Odds

The Commanders will need an awesome showing in free agency and the 2024 NFL Draft in order to have any shot at the Super Bowl in 2024-25. Either Sam Howell or a rookie will start at quarterback for Washington next season, while Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson project to be the top pass-catching options.

Here are some popular types of bets you can make on the Commanders in VA.

Prop Bets

Prop bets are a very popular way to bet on the NFL. In the Super Bowl, there are a wide variety of game props and player props. Washington Commanders Super Bowl LVIII Outlook and Predictions

In 2023, the Commanders were hindered by a subpar head coach, a bad starting QB, and one of the weakest offensive lines in the NFL.

In 2024, the team's success will hinge on new head coach Dan Quinn, plus whichever QB, rookie or otherwise, that is starting for the team.

Washington Commanders Super Bowl History

If you are new to following football, you would think that the Commanders are one of the worst franchises in the history of the sport. This is the opposite of the truth. Washington has won three Super Bowls in their history, and they have appeared in five. Their most recent win was the 1991-92 season, and their most recent Super Bowl loss was the 1983-84 season. Washington made back-to-back Super Bowls in 1983 and 1984.

Have the Commanders Ever Won the Super Bowl?

Yes, the Washington Commanders have won three Super Bowl rings in five Super Bowl appearances. Their most recent loss was at the hands of the Raiders in 1983-84, and their most recent win came against the Buffalo Bills in 1991-92. Washington also won two NFL Championships before the merger.

How Many Super Bowls Have the Washington Commanders Won?

The Washington Commanders have won the Super Bowl and hoisted the Lombardi Trophy three times. Washington has made 19 postseason appearances since the merger, and they have an overall record of 20-16 during that span. The Commanders have not been to the Super Bowl since 1991-92.

How Many Times Have the Commanders Won the Super Bowl?

The Commanders have won the Super Bowl three times. Though it is hard to believe now, the Commanders are one of the most respected organizations in the NFL. Washington was at its best during the 1980s and 1990s, and four of their five appearances came between 1980 and 1992.

Which Years Did the Washington Commanders Go to the Super Bowl?

Yes, the Washington Commanders have been to the Super Bowl five times, and they have won three times. Washington beat the Bills, Broncos, and Dolphins in the Super Bowl. Their two losses came at the hands of the Dolphins and the Raiders. Check out the Commanders' Super Bowl history below:

  • 1972: Lost Super Bowl VII 14-7 to the undefeated Miami Dolphins.
  • 1982: Won Super Bowl XVII 27-17 against the Miami Dolphins in the strike-shortened season.
  • 1983: Lost Super Bowl XVIII 38-9 against the Los Angeles Raiders. Washington had the chance to win back-to-back Super Bowls.
  • 1987: Won Super Bowl XXII 42-10 against the Denver Broncos in another strike-shortened season.
  • 1991: Won Suoer Bowl XXVI 37-24 against the Buffalo Bills. Washington was 1402 heading into the playoffs that season.

In 1972, Washington lost the Super Bowl to the only team in NFL history to go undefeated throughout the regular season.

In 1982, Washington got their revenge against Miami in a strike-shortened season. Only nine games were played due to a 57-day-long players' strike. Washington finished the regular season 8-1 before winning the Super Bowl.

In 1983, Washington had a chance to win back-to-back Super Bowls, but they fell short against the Raiders. Washington entered the playoffs 14-2 before posting by 29 points in Super Bowl XVIII.

In 1987, Washington was victorious in another strike-shortened season. Washington beat the Broncos 42-10.

In 1991, Washington took home their third Super Bowl with a 37-24 win against Jim Kelly and the Bills. Washington won their third Super Bowl in 10 years and they won all three with different QBs under center.

Washington has not made the Super Bowl since they beat the Bills in 1991-92. In fact, they have not made it to the NFC Championship game since then, either. According to oddsmakers, Washington is not expected to make another NFC Championship game or win a Super Bowl this upcoming season.

How Many Times Have the Washington Commanders Been to the NFC Championship Game?

The Commanders have been to six NFC Championship games, and they won five of them. These appearances were in 1972, 1982, 1983, 1986, 1987, and 1991.

The Commanders have five NFC titles in their history. Their wins came against the Cowboys in 1972, the Cowboys in 1982, the 49ers in 1983, the Vikings in 1987, and the Lions in 1991. Washington won three of their five Super Bowl appearances.

Washington’s 2001-02 (+350) preseason has by far their shortest odds of winning the Super Bowl. Washington has not come close to that number in the last two decades.

The worst preseason odds Washington has seen in the past two decades were +30000 in 2020-21. However, Washington won the NFC East that year and had a home playoff game against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.

If you want more information on the Commanders' playoff chances, I have an entirely separate page dedicated to just that. Over there, I am tracking Washington’s postseason odds based on any news and notes coming from the team.
